A Cure In Sight celebrated rare disease week in Washington DC and Boston MA. We had a great group of ocular melanoma patients and supports join ACIS and Everylife Foundation for a great 2 days at Capital Hill. In person meetings were held with Representatives and Senators from Rhode Island, Virginia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Alabama while letters were sent in from all over the US urging funding for NIH, FDA and restoring research for rare cancers like OM. There is still time to send a letter to your Legislatures. Click the button below for an editable letter written by A Cure In Sight. Address it, sign it, add your contact information and send it the best for you.
A team of patients went to Boston to meet with Aura Biosciences to celebrate rare diseases and hear from Mr. Sagoo from the UK as well as patient spotlights. The Aura team joined in with zebra attire and fun to address the not so fun side of ocular melanoma.
Following Hill Day, Megan Bekkedahl, Melody Burchett and Ashley McCrary took part in a 2 day meeting with Melanoma Research Alliance. This meeting brought together patients, scientists and physicians to discuss research and pathways to move treatments for all melanomas forward.
Through collaboration, we can do great things. Thank you Everylife Foundation and Melanoma Research Alliance for including A Cure In Sight in your events.
