Joan DiPippo

My mothers Ocular Melanoma journey began around Easter time in 2021 – My aunt noticed a black spot in her eye. Two days later, she was off to see her ophthalmologist, which is Dr Lang at The Eye Institute in providence.  That is where it all started, he found a large tumor behind her right eye (our left) and off to Mass Eye and Ear we went the following week after. That is where the Dr/Surgeon stated that she needed to have her eye immediately removed. Surgery was done there, and honestly it was a very smooth surgery and a very smooth recovery. She was receiving scans every three months, and at exactly a year later, tumors showed up on her liver.
