Thank you for this web site…We lost our mother on December 16,2007 to Ocular melanoma..There needs to be more awareness to this form of cancer, not only to the people but Dr.’s also…My mothers dr,’s let her go for 2 1/2 yrs with out knowing what it was..They finally sent her to a hospital in Georgia and we were there 5 min. and they told us it was ocular melanoma. That was in Sept. They took her eye out in Oct. It had already spread to her liver and we lost her in Dec..I always wonder would she still be here if they had gotten to it sooner

      Hi Glenda,
We are very happy to have created this website and we are so glad that you have found it. I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. ACIS is hoping to get the much needed awareness out there so that people like your mother can get the information they so desperately need. Ocular melanoma is a terrible disease that is very hard to stay ahead of. We are hoping that the latest advances in care will continue and they will find a cure soon. Thank you for leaving such a touching comment and sharing the story of your mother. We hope that we can be some comfort to you knowing that we are fighting for the entire OM community.
